Another highlight of the ASPN meeting was the surprise retirement dinner for Dr. A. Lee Dellon. This was a great time to reflect on Dr. Dellon’s legacy of teaching, research, and surgical care. 10 of Dr. Dellon’s 20 previous fellows were present to honor, thank, reflect, and roast Dr. Dellon. This was an international mixture of physicians in academics and private practice all across the US and in Europe. Oh yeah, we got to eat some pretty good food as well! A real treat! This is what doctor’s really do at medical meetings! The stories that are told at retirement dinners… stay at retirement dinners!
