Treatment for Pain in the Leg from Behind the Knee to the Top of the Foot

treatment for leg painThis delightful young lady was experiencing recurrent pain in the leg from behind the knee to the top of the foot from a suspected compression or entrapment of the common peroneal nerve.   She has responded in the past to a previous decompression for years, but for some reason, her pain returned.   We suspected additional entrapment upstream from where we had stopped operating several years ago.  She did not respond to more conservative therapy with injections and physical therapy so the decision was made to return to the operating room to revise the nerve decompression and release the nerve across the knee where it appears to be stuck. She has had wonderful improvement. She is back to playing softball (with covid - 19 rules) and running bases. We could not be more excited for her!
