This patient is 3 months from a decompression of the left tarsal tunnel with the branches of the medial plantar, lateral plantar, calcaneal nerve. This patient has Type I Diabetes and was diagnosed with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. We diagnosed her with a compression of the tibial nerve and the branches of the medial plantar, lateral plantar, and calcaneal nerve in the setting of her diabetes. She had these nerves decompressed at the level of her ankle, and within weeks she already noticed return of substantial sensation to the point that she immediately was able to identify a hole her sock that she did not know that she had. We were so excited that I put the sock in a frame and it hangs to this day in my office. It is our HOLEY SOCK.
